GENERAL MOTORS WARRANTY CLERK / ADMINISTRATOR

 

Dallas area GM Dealership has an immediate opening for an experienced Automotive Warranty Administrator. We are looking for someone who is an organized self-starter with a great attitude. The Warranty Administrator is responsible for processing and managing warranty claims for vehicles. This role involves ensuring claims are accurate, submitted on time, and comply with GM's warranty policies. They also play a key role in communicating with dealerships, customers, and other stakeholders regarding warranty issues. 

 

Key responsibilities of a GM Warranty Clerk/Administrator:

  • Processing Warranty Claims: Reviewing repair orders, verifying warranty coverage, preparing necessary documentation, and submitting claims to GM for payment. 
  • Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of all warranty work, parts returns, and claim statuses. 
  • Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring that all warranty claims adhere to GM's policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations. 
  • Communication and Support: Answering warranty-related questions from dealerships, customers, and other stakeholders. Providing support to dealerships on warranty procedures and best practices. 
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues related to warranty claims, such as discrepancies in repair orders or parts issues. 
  • Collaboration: Working with various teams within GM, including service departments, parts departments, and engineering, to resolve warranty issues.
  • Training and Development: May participate in training dealerships on warranty procedures or providing support on warranty topics. 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in warranty administration to ensure proper claim processing and payment. 
  • Organizational Skills: Managing a large volume of claims and paperwork requires strong organizational skills. 
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is essential for interacting with various stakeholders. 
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes is helpful, especially for resolving complex warranty issues. 
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems for claim processing, record-keeping, and communication. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to warranty claims.
